Hamlin Beach State Park, NY

Hamlin Beach State Park

Tell me about it, Might need to be in Rochester for a wedding - would this work?

Are there better option in the area if we need to be Down town?

TIA,

Beautiful park! On lake Ontario. Electric hookup only! Stayed there a couple years ago, over the 4th of July and loved it. Reserve early. It is a popular park and books up quickly, especially holiday weekends.

Webster has a small campground which is on the east side of town, near the lake. It is closer to downtown but also smaller, Google map, or campground info. I'm not sure of they offer any utilities. We have driven thru but never stayed there, just too close to home.

Hamlin Beach is the other campground closest to downtown. If you stay at Hamlin Beach and approach it from the east on the Ontario Parkway, don't. There are several low clearance bridges that will take your roof off. There are other bridges on the parkway that are arched types. They offer full clearance, but only in the center. We avoid all parkways in NY & NJ because bridges are often too low for us.

The closest full hook-up campground is further away such as Southwoods RV Park in Bergen, or others.

Walmarts and Cracker Barrel locations that are options too. The south side locations are the better side if the city.

Hickory Ridge golf and Campground in Holley is a nice alternative. Easy access (no low bridges to worry about), nice golf course and campground and still a fairly easy drive to Rochester

Red rock campground in Huberton just around the corner from hickory ridge is a very nice campground that is fairly new and full hookup. It is a small nice place to camp with easy access to Rochester. Also the ridge campground in LeRoy is nice an very close to expressway and thruway about 2 miles you might want to look at.
