Handicap spot at Cades Cove, electrical question.
Has anyone stayed at Cades Cove handicapped site that has the five amp electrical service. And what will happen if we pop the circuit breaker, do they or us have to reset it? We will be staying there in the spring we were wondering how reliable is the electric is? And isit truly only 5amps as advertised. Wife and I both have a need for electrical power for medical appliances and we would I’ve not been able to get in touch with the Ranger to ask.

Also we do not want to stay on the generator loop As we do not have a generator nor do we want to run one.

Do you possibly mean 15 amp instead of 5 ? Either way it will depend on how much your medical equipment draws and what else you will be running through it ie: battery charger / inverter etc.

Why don't you call them and ask about it? More likely it is 15amp 120V service.

OP says he's tried to get in touch with the Ranger and hasn't been able to.

This is from the reservation site. It states 5amp. Depending on your medical equipment you might want to go to a private RV park:
"This site meets ADA (accessibility) standards and is intended for occupancy by parties at least one member of which has a physical disability. ADA sites in the campground are A01, A02, A03, A04, A05, B33, C12, C31, C48, C50 and C57. Please see the notice at the top of the page regarding use of these sites. Sites C31 and C57 also offer a 5 amp electrical outlet intended for the purpose of operating medical equipment, e.g. a CPAP machine. See the page for those specific sites regarding information about use of the sites and how to reserve them. The use of generators is prohibited in areas of the campground that are designated generator free. Generator waivers, which permitted the use of a generator at night to operate medical equipment, are no longer issued in campgrounds that have ADA sites with electricity.
A-4 is a handicapped accessible site that is paved and level with full-day shade. At this site you will be close to the bathroom as well as the camp store. A wheelchair accessible path is located beside the site giving access to the camp store area."
