Harvest Hosts
Thinking of joining H. H. for our 6 week trip this summer to G. N. P., Calgary and parts of Canada. Can some of you give me the pros and cons of H. H. ?
Thanks

Pros: Everything
Cons: Limited stay, Most don't have any hookups.
Neither ever a problem for us. Some of the best experiences of our travels around the U.S. and Canada. Chuck

We use the Harvest Hosts for overnight stays between multi-day stops. I would recommend them. We have found most locations very accommodating. Mostly good experiences. Some locations turn out to be not as desirable (next to high traffic roads, coo-coo owners). Picture of our overnight at a farm near Spokane WA.

Thanks for the info. Two more questions.
Can you book in advance?
Can you book for 3 RVs at a time?

Yes, you book in advance. You are supposed to give them a 24 hour notice. I have booked several weeks in advance.
I would expect you could request space for 3 RVs only if they were all subscriber/members of Harvest Host. However, not all Harvest Hosts have parking for 3 RVs. You are supposed to show your Harvest Host member credentials on check in at the Harvest Host site.

The time I called a HH location 2-weeks in advance they said don’t call us any sooner the the day you are arriving. So, each place is different.
Also, I’ve stayed at one HH location two times. They have room for 4RVs. The first time it was us and one other RVer, the second time just us.
Once you join you get access to their maps and each place will list the number of RV spaces they have room for and what the max length is.

HH is a no brainer.
We’ve used it many times and so far no bad experiences.

Suggestion/Reminder: Harvest Hosts the website/"club" recommends/asks, since you're getting a "free" site for a night or two, that you patronize your host; i.e., buy a bottle or two from their winery, something homemade from their farm, etc. The owner's receive no compensation from HH for their participation except the chance to share their location/experience w/us RVers.
Think of a purchase as a kind of "Reverse Hostess Gift."

All the ones we have stayed at did after hours. A few even had power hookups. Chuck
