Great Park, one of the best in the area. Their web site is pretty accurate in details and lots to do within walking distance

We were in Orlando checking out campgrounds for our December trip. We stopped at Tropical palms. The people at the check in counter were not too socialable, but one of the parkers offered to show us around and he was real nice. The pool area looked nice, but their pond was covered with algae. He also mentioned that the new owners are letting the park run down a little, not keeping up wit the landscaping. The sites were ok, nothing to writ home about. It is within walking distance of an area called "old town" and right in the middle of all the Kissimmee tourist stuff.
Lake Magic, Theme World are our 2 top contenders now.

If we do not stay at WDW FW then we stay at Tropical Palms. We have been there many times. ENCORE has purchased the facility and they are not letting the park become run down. I have found the registration clerks friendly and knowledgeable. A lot of the park is going condo with park models, but there remains plenty of RV sites. The alge in the pond comes and goes, it depends on a lot of things. As previously posted the park is large, with several different types of sites. I see you pull a 24' 5th wheel. This is a good reason to ask for a site near the front of the park. If you have kids, it is another reason to stay away from the pond. The pond usually has several alagators in residence. Stay away from the above mentioned pond. A super site or a full hookup site near the front and you will have no problem getting in or out. I've been back by the pond several times and the coach has some scraches from the trees. The sites are fine, the roads are a bit narrow and in the back you will need to make some tight turns. Location, location, location, Tropical Palms has it.
There are two inaccuraties in the TL directory listing. They are not a Good Sam park. Their WIFI is not free.

We are the same as GaryKD and have not really tried anywhere else for years. We always get a super site and if there on Saturday walk up to the car show at Old Town in front of the park. Yes I have ridden the swing and the bungie but have not done the drag race yet.

Hi, we are planning to spend the winter at East Lake Fish Camp in Kissimmee. Has anyone ever stayed there and if so how was it? We would appreciate any comments. Thanks, Linda

Linda,
Consider starting your own thread with the topic of "East Lake Fish Camp in Kissimmee". You might get responses. Folks who have information will never know the question is asked since this thread is about Tropical Palms.

We like tropical palms when not staying at Disney. They have a wash guy that comes around and they do an AWESOME job!
