Never been to Sands of Time. Here's the link to their website if you haven't visited it already.

Sands of Time Campground

Are you familiar with some of the other campgrounds on Hatteras Island?

If you're looking for a luxury resort for your visit, it won't be Sands of Time. If, however, you're looking for a nice, clean, quiet little park that is central to the Outer Banks, you'll like it. It's a Passport America Park, and the owners are friendly and laid back. It's back far enough off the main road so that there is no traffic noise.

We spent several days there last fall, and it's a place I'd go again.

has anyone been to this place this last year. I know they do not have much extras, but for the price (discount program) and location you can't beat it. Me and the better half want to spend a week in the area in August.

thanks in advance for your comments

Thumbs up Sands of Time

We have been staying at Sands of Time for the last 5 or 6 years. SOT is our park when we visit the Outer Banks. We were just there June 1 - 10. We really like the park, CLEAN and quiet. Nice helpful owners, we are made to feel almost like family. The sites are large and have 50 amp. if needed. This year they have also added wifi, and new paved roads. No pool but we don't careabout having one, as we spend most of our time at the beach. They do have seasonal campers but they are located on the back side of the park. NO live ins just people who use campers for vacation. We would love to have a yearly site, may be some day. They are only a 10 minute walk from the beach and we love bike riding in the old village of Avon. Nice park great rates, good location.
