Headed towards Moab

Sitting in Blanding, UT for tonight and tomorrow night, working our way to Moab. Looking for decent campground to land a 40’ rig so we can run around in the Jeep for awhile. Looking for decent but not to break the bank. TIA!!

There are probably a half a dozen RV parks in and around Moab. Check out RV Parky for more information.
I have stayed several times at the Arches KOA, about 10 miles north of Moab. Good access for wheeling at Gemini Bridges, White Rim and other places. Don't know what would "Break your Bank"

Moab tends to be more expensive than many areas, and this time of year can have very little vacancy, which might just be part of the equation. If you aren’t looking for boondocking/Dry camping spots, any of the web apps pretty much list all the options. Staying will probably be based on what you can get in to vacancy wise if you’re looking for more than 1 or 2 consecutive nights.

OK RV is a PPA camp ground just south of Moab - not fancy but seemed OK for the 2 nights we explored the area last fall.

About $25/nt

We stayed at the Moab KOA two years ago and found it to be very nice. We were there for 10 days.

We used a PA park last time we stayed in town - https://passportamerica.com/campgrounds/state2/ut#top

Archview is pricey but if you get a spot in the Southeast corner looking directly at Arches National Park it's worth it once. It's also very convenient to many trails right across the highway. A OK rv park is where we are staying next year and there are a couple others on the south end of town. If you can boondock there are several places just north of town for free or just a few bucks a night. Cheap primitive out by Hells Revenge.

If you want to dry camp we really enjoy this BLM campground a few miles east of 191 and south of Moab. I think the cost was $15 and if you have a national Senior Pass it would by $7.50!! It's in a very pretty setting with big sites. Take the short walk to the waterfall... a nice sight in the desert. No reservations accepted and since you'll be there after the weekend your chances are good to get a site.

We go to Moab every year for the Jeep Safari. There are quite a few campgrounds to choose from. We stay at Spanish Trails CG. Its very nice. Our second choice would be Portal CG or Moab Rim. Pick up a copy of Moab Jeep Trails book by Charles Wells. It shows all the trails in the area with GPS coordinates. (Our group guided him to some new trails when he was developing his 8th edition). Good luck.

The Portal has 2 sections. One section has the sites owned by individuals. They are the more deluxe with cement pads, landscaping and access to a private pool. They are not always available and they're a bit more expensive, but well worth the money in my opinion.

And the other section has paved roads and gravel sites. If you don’t need paved sites and use of the pool, it is less money and fine place to stay.
