Hells Canyon

Has anyone parked at Le Grande or Baker City, Oregon and driven the Devils Highway scenic loop? Can it be done in a day or spend the night in Joseph?

Yes, you can drive it in a day but what scenery you'll miss. I took my time and did it in two days...more time to walk around and scare myself to death looking over the cliffs.

Did you leave your RV at Le Grange or Baker City and drive a passenger vehicle? If so is one better than the other for RV parks? Also is Joseoh a good half way point to spend a night?
Thanks.

We have stayed in Baker City, Can't remember the name of the park, but it was ok. There are also 3 Idaho Power parks in the canyon and Farewell Bend State Park (Oregon) just off I-84 at the upper end of Brownlee Reservoir. If you have half a day to spare, make a call to Hell's Canyon Adventures or another jet boat company, and book a trip from the Hell's Canyon Dam down and back up. I have rafted the canyon more times than I can count, and only jet-boated it once, but it was worth every penny to do it once. Going up through the rapids is way different.
