To me, it doesn't look like you'd even want to take I-40 from Memphis. That puts you too far north of your first stop.

I'm just surprised that nobody has told you it's going to be 12 days of driving 400 miles each day for the round trip. Lots of folks don't care for that much driving per day, where I actually like it.
Also, think of getting a discount card for the truck stops for buying your diesel. Can save you lots of money.

I'm looking at the option you posted earlier very closely because of that...

Have a good trip!

Hey all...if you had to choose between the Garman RV890, RV 780 & Traffic or the RV 785 & Traffic, which would you choose?

This is your first trip? Part of the experience is working with the maps to come up with your own routing. Dont place too much trust in the GPS. Use web sites like Google Maps and Google Earth to figure out the tricky stuff.

The only caveat I would offer about using Google maps is that they don't know the size of your rig. You can get routing on those maps that won't work for your size and weight. I don't want to see you featured on the 11foot8.com site.
You'll be able to set your rig's height, weight and width in the Garmin 890, so it will route you on RV-safe routes. Same for RV Trip Wizard. You can set your rig's dimensions in that app, too.

With 16 years of full-timing and traveling the country constantly including Canada and Alaska we made our plans with paper maps and then inputing the route 'WE' wanted to take into DeLorme as we drove and never had an issue. Neither the paper maps or Delorme didn't know the size of our rig! We traveled secondary roads constantly. Scary, isn't it?

Before the trip began I was starting to get a little nervous about the whole thing...I ended up using a combination of the rv890, my android phone google maps app as well as my wife's iPhone map app for the routs...they pretty much stayed the same throughout the trip thus far. We are now at rvacation campsite in Selma, NC. We reached Ringgold Georgia, then Summerville, SC before our NC destination. In between we did our over night rest stops at a few Loves travel stops. We've pretty much only used Love's solely for our fuel stops as my wife an kids love the store. I've heard alot about Sheetz stations and would like to stop at one during our trip. It's been cool to see all the rvers on the road with all the toads..both dolly and 4 down. Finally saw one yesterday dolly towing a 2wd suv backwards....I knew it works in theory but never actually saw it til yesterday. So far our little Fiesta has done great at our destination stops but may want to use our 2wd Expedition for future trips.
