When you go to Maine consider a stop at Little Ponderosa CG in Boothbay Harbour then on the Acacia National Park and the KOA there

I'd have to second the KOA in Bar Harbor, ME. The sites are a little tight but it is well kept and has a great water view. I usually go in early June and it can still be a little cold. If you want to spend some time in the NH white mountians on your way from NY to ME I would highly suggest Moosehillock in Warren, NH. It's a great place.

We were in our RV for 10 months in 04 and enjoyed every minute. We love Maine and spent a month there. We stayed near Belfast at Moorings which is a wonderful spot. We also stayed at the Red Apple in Kennebunkport, another terrific spot. Both of them have websites; so check them out. Have fun!

We also stayed at the KOA in Bar Harbor. One thing to keep in mind is that they do not offer full hookups, at least not in the sites with a water view. The ground, like much of New England, is rock, so no sewer. But they do have a decent dump station. We enjoyed our stay there, and the staff really goes out of their way to help take you to your site, level your rig, bring leveling boards if you need them, etc. Very nice.

I would suggest a stop in Camden Maine. There is a Campground called Sennebec Lake about 10 miles NW of there in Appleton Maine. Depending on the time of year you go you could hit the Lobsterfest or the Blueberry festival. The coast is beautiful and some nice shopping to do.
