Campground Map | Hersheypark Camping Resort
We stay at the Hershey Resort Campground, love it. Our next trip there is Mothers day.

There is a Cabelas outside Hershey that is great for overnighting. Large blacktop lot with a nice dump station. I spent a night there June of 2013. Only one other vehicle in a large lot, so no problem running genny. I try to pay Cabelas back by buying a LOT of stuff from them.

While I agree that Cabelas is a nice place for a quick overnight stop, it's not anywhere close to Hershey. It's in Hamburg, an hour away.

If we are going anywhere west or south of the Hudson Valley we try to "jump start" our trip the night before by staying at the Cabelas in Hamburg. It's a great overnight stopping spot, but I agree that it is too far from Hershey.

Hershey Pa.
There is a pretty nice KOA in Elizabeth town which is very close. The Hershey CG mentioned by another post is nice as well.

X2 on Hershey Park Camping resort. Shuttle service to Hershey Park,
very tight sites, can be crowded on weekends, but the best place
in the immediate Hershey area.

The nicest sites are up top.
Shuttle service is a great perk!

Depending on whether you have a car to drive a little bit , there is a very nice campground right off of Rt. 72 and the PA turnpike, very close to the Rennaisance Faire, called Pinch Pond and not far from Hershey. I live in the area and stay there when we want to just go someplace close. Very nice campground and family owned. It does take the Good Sam discount card if you have one. The KOA is on Rt. 743 between Elizabethtown and Hershey, and you are a very short distance to Hershey. Another one right up the road to the KOA is the Hershey Conewago Campground. If you luck out with them and need more ideas, give a shout and I can direct you to some others. All of the ones I am mentioning are about a 15 minute drive to HP. And if you have time and stay on that side of Hershey, visit Mount Gretna and hit the Jigger shop.

We're staying at Twin Grove RV Resort in Pine Grove - it's about 20 miles from the Hershey stuff and it's a pretty nice park.

Absolutely agree.... we live about an hour from Twin Grove Park and without a doubt it is one of our favorite local CG's. If you are planning a weekend trip I would make reservations ASAP as they fill-up fast. FYI...it's not a heavily shaded CG... If you want some shade I suggest the sites that back-up against the creek or in the N area.
