Hilton Head Harbor Resort in April

We are going to Hilton Head Harbor RV Resort in April for a week. It looks like a great location from their website and have excellent reviews on RV Park Reviews.com... When making the reservation over the phone, I wanted to reserve a premium waterfront spot. Looks like they have about a dozen +/-. They told me my reservation is confirmed, but not for a specific site or even a type of site. They locate you on a first come basis and they let you pick your spot. Since it's about a 15 hour drive, I will be driving about 10 hours on Friday and then another 5 hours on Saturday, arriving around noon. If I really want a premium waterfront site, am I making a mistake with my arrival day and time? I am not retired, so my time is somewhat limited.

Thanks

It's true that the water sites tend to rent early but in reality the sites just across the street are just about as good. The water front sites do not include the actual dock in the rental. If you can't get a water front site to start just ask in the office if any of the water sites are going to open up in the next day or so. Beautiful resort. Have a meal at the Sunset Grill. Some of the best food on the island.

I agree with Steve. This was one of our favorite resorts. All the spots are great. The staff is very helpful. Enjoy!

We showed up with one hours notice and got a spot across from the waterfront, it was beautiful! This is the only campground on our trip that we elected to stay longer. Very nice campground, lots of things to do and see, very friendly people!

Wish we could have stayed longer!
Enjoy your trip!

We stayed at space #117. Wish we had more time there to explore the island more.

Have fun!
