We stayed there before. It's one of my favorites, almost bought a lot there. We rode our bikes to the beach, it's very close. We also went to Savannah from there, not too far. Beautiful property with excellent amenities.

If you go to Charleston go on a Saturday you can go to the old Naval Base and see the "Hunley". Then you can go to the "Open Air Market" on Market Street. It is still nice but has lost of the old time feel to it. They sell allot of handmade Sweet Grass Baskets and most of these are costly. But the sweet grass baskets are beautifully made. Also in Charleston is Fort Sumter and the "USS Yorktown" and a couple of other ships are at Patriot's Point. In downtown Charleston is an area called "The Battery", it is where the shots of the Civil War started. There are also several other Civil War historical parks in the area. The Citadel is in Charleston. North from Patriot's Point is the Isle of Palms, beautiful beaches and nice restaurants along the waterfront. So the seafood there is really fresh.
Savannah is beautiful, we walked to downtown area and went to the waterfront there. There is a store that makes Perlin candies, so good. Then we had lunch at the "Pirate House", try it it was good food.
Tybee Island is nice, but the down side, dogs are not allowed on the beaches there. At this place we took a dolphin watching tour boat ride, Captains Derek's Dolphin Tours. Fort Pulaski is there on the weekends they do the cannon firing demonstrations.
We will be back at "The Oaks at Point South in mid- October for 2 weeks coming up.

We just got back from there Monday. The resort is awesome, beautifully landscaped. Since each site is individually owned, so some are nicer than others. What site have they assigned you?
Public beach, Coligny, 1.4 miles away. Being public, it can get very crowded. We rode our bikes there, easy ride. And we biked most places. Hilton head is probably one of the most bike friendly place there is, so bring your own or rent from any one of many rental places. Lots and lots paved bike/walking paths all over the island. If you’ve never been to Hilton Head, be prepared at how difficult it will be to “find” your destination. They are strict on signs, very small and hidden in all the lush surroundings. Example, You can be looking for One Hot Mammas restaurant, and be standing 50 feet from it and still can’t find it! Mind you I’m not complaining.
I recommend....
Daufuskie island and rent a golf cart for self guided tour
Kayak tour
Dolphin tour
Mini boat tour
Day trip to Savannah
Food......
Slap Fish-LOVE the lobster taquitos
One hot mammas
Nectors Farm kitchen
Holy Tequila
Reilleys grill and bar
Black Marlin bayside grill
San Miguel’s

We stayed there earlier this year. It's OK. A little tight for larger rigs and it was expensive for what you got. There's not much on Hilton Head that isn't golf or bicycles. The beach was fairly packed, as were the bicycle trails. Savannah and Charleston were great day trips, and we went out to Tybee Island twice. Make sure to stop for ice cream.
A better resort, just a little ways away is Hilton Head Harbor RV Resort & Marina. There is much more to do at the resort, rent boats, jet skis, go fishing, or eat at their on site restaurant, and you are right on the water. It's beautiful, spaces are wider, and it's more convenient for day tripping.

We purchased a pad at the Hilton Head Harbor RV and Resort. We chose it because after staying at the Motorcoach Resort we heard complaints about street noise. The Harbor is quiet. It also has 2 pools versus one at the Motorcoach. Love that it is a shorter distance to get off the Island.
