Could anyone recommend a nice campground in Houston that is near M.B. Anderson. We will be there toward the end of the Feb. and be there maybe a month.

There is at least on on SOuth main southeast of the Med Center. That area of town was pretty rough at one time, but don't know how it fairs now. That is about as close to the med center as I know you can get.

Maybe one of you Texas Boomers can fill him in better on the place on South Main. Otherwise thay are all a pretty good distance from the Med Center.

There is a little park called Almost Heaven RV that is down Hwy. 288 south of Houston in the little town of Manvel. I know that there are many folks that stay there while visiting one of the hospitals in Houston. They have a website: Almost Heaven RV Park
Hope this helps you

Thanks for your help. What I'll do is call the few camp grounds that I found and ask them how far from M.D. Anderson they are. I would like to thank you both for the input!

I had forgotten about Almost Heaven in Manvel. That would give you a pretty straight run to the Med Center without a lot of traffic (by Houston standards).

Sure hope you are not afraid of Hoston traffic. It can be pretty intemidating, even for the Hoston Pros.

Ken, Thanks for the heads up. I live in the Atlanta area and drive it all hours of the day,so if it's worse in Houston I really feel bad for them.
