Clay,
What area of Idaho are you interested? I live in Meridian, ID and drive past the Boise/Meridian RV Resort daily. It's within walking distance of several restaurants, fast food joints, and Home Depot. About 8 miles via Interstat 84 to Boise. It has level spots, small trees, and big rig friendly. I have never been to Chalet RV but have driven highway 55 from Boise to Donnely many times and it is a winding uphill road (narrow in spots) and everyone is in a hurry. I won't drive this road with my 1996 34' Vectra, I would use highway 95 through Council and then back down to Donnelly. Hi Valley is in Eagle and easy drive to downtown Eagle and Boise. I've driven past it and it seems to be located in a residental area.
I'm not sure if you are interested in staying in one spot for your entire visit or if you would like to visit the entire State. Idaho has very different areas; mountains, desert, lava flow area, etc. Try the following website for info:

If I can be of any help just contact me. My Wife and I have stayed at many of the State campgrounds.
