Oh well I guess that takes Idaho off my places to visit a second time list.

If they don't want my tourist dollars, that's ok. There are 47 other states that do though some are not much better than Idaho.

....
Idaho still has a lot to offer besides state parks. Used to consider Idaho State parks a bargain. Just stayed two nights and the cost were similar to Oregon and Washington.

Idaho is loaded with National Forest and private campgrounds. No question that there the few state campsites are much outnumbered by those available outside the parks. It is a lovely place.

Especially this year. And after reading that Idaho charges their residents a “RV” fee per year I now have more sympathy for them and their desire to try and monetarily limit non residents at certain popular parks.

While it can be a shock to someone who doesn’t know the price difference beforehand I personally would not stop visiting because of it, unless it was financially not feasible.
I'm in agreement and wish my state would do the same. I'm pretty sure our market would absorb a non-resident fee with little impact to tourism dollars.

That worked. More availability for Idaho residents who paid for those state parks.

The best

Was in Idaho recently. My opinion is they treat visitors really well. Even at double Idaho is still a great value. Also hundreds of amazing NF and BLM CG's to chose from. I will be back!
