Question Iowa City, Iowa- recommendations

I saw one park with passport of America called Amanda Colonies RV Park. Any cool places near there. Got to kill a couple of days on the Way to Nappanee. Any recommendation? Or should we stay one night and book it to Nappannee for service appointment. Got to check in at Newmar on Sunday sometime.

Dawg, the Amana Colonies will be an interesting 2-3 day stop all by themselves.

Just there in early April. Very large park with plenty to see nearby. Would go back

A couple weeks ago we spent a few days at the Amana Colonies RV park. Very nice. Passport America is two days max and certain days of the week. The area has lots of interesting shops and lots of good eating. DW is a quilter and there were two shops with fabric selection she really liked. One could spend one to several days there depending on your interests. Various events held there throughout the year as well. We enjoyed, recommended.

I'm here right now. Nice quiet RV Park. Went into town and ate at Ronnenberg Restaurant. Best food I've had in a while. May have to stay three days. Such a historic place.

There a few different Corps of Engineer campgrounds immediately north of Iowa City that provide good outdoor hiking and water activities. About a $10 Uber ride to Iowa City and Coralville for food and entertainment.

Stay in the Amana RV park. Lots of room between the coaches. Staff is friendly and can recommend places in town. For sure hit the meat shop and pick up some of the smoked pork chops. Just heat and serve, they taste just like cured ham. The sausages are great also, plus the bacon, along with everything else. Can you tell we like the meat shop?

We will be there for July 4 before heading to HWH

Hi Maddawg46,
Sunday can be a difficult day to get a FHU site, at Camp Newmar. Consider getting there a day or two early. Get what you can. If not FHU then this gives you time to scout the FHU sties as people leave.
