Jackson Hole area RV Parks

Headed down from West Yellowstone Montana into Jackson Hole in early September. Have reservations for 2 nights at Jackson Hole Campground in Wilson, WY. After reading several reviews I am second guessing my decision. The reviews I read are mixed (which is not unusual) but tend to be more bad than good. Another choice would have been Headwaters Campground at Flagg Ranch closer to Moran but again the reviews were not all that great for that park either. Most of the reviews are from last year (2012) so I would appreciate any feedback from RV'ers that might have camped or are currently camping in that area this year.

Thanks, WM

We always stay IN Teton Nat'l Park either at Colter Bay or Gros Ventre campgrounds which are dry camping. The full hookup campground is Colter Bay RV Park which is right next door to Colter Bay campground. Not sure when the RV park closes in Sept. As you guessed, the other 2 RV parks you had in mind aren't very good and the town of Jackson's RV parks are very expensive and gravel parking lots. Stay IN the park if you can. The two dry campgrounds don't accept reservations. You'll have no problem getting in during Sept. They each have 300 sites! Have fun!!

Colter Bay closes noon on Sep 22 (And we are leaving there the morning of Sep 21) There was plenty of room when I booked our space three weeks ago, and I understand there is usually plenty of room Sep 15-22... I'm not sure about earlier... Good Luck!
