Jackson, MN to Burlington, WA

Planning on our first trip with our new 30 foot toy hauler and gmc 2500 HD from Jackson MN to Burlington WA. Does anyone have suggestions on routes, roads, points of interest, restaurants or campgrounds?

If you want to "take the road less traveled", consider Hwy 2 that runs E-W in norther MN, ND, Wy, Mt.

I took a trip last year and on the way back I decide to take Hwy 2, this is a slower route going through smaller rural towns.

Just have to check for things to do along the way.

Faster route is I90, takes you close to some major attractions like Badlands NP, Custer SP, Mt Rushmore, and other sites. Further west of that is Devils Tower.

If you end up a little further south than hwy 2 in ND (maybe to see theodore rosevelt np,north park campground in dickenson is a good stop, huge sites, very friendly staff. Closer to roosevelt np is a county campground in medora (medora campground). Harder to get in to but right on the doorstep to the np.

If you do choose US2, you can take it through to Everett or choose SR20 as you enter Washington at Newport. Either is a beautiful drive. SR20 goes directly to Burlington via North Cascades National Park.

We've gone both ways many times. A few years ago we traveled US2 from Everett to St Ignace. Beautiful all the way with lots of interesting and scenic stops.
