Jax Naval Air Station RV campground?

Has anyone stayed there? My wife and I are planning to go there in a week for a couple of days away.
Is it far away from the other things? We are thinking of a movie and a dinner on base.

Pogo, Ii know nothing about the Jax NAS CG. But, have you looked at Mayport NAS? In my opinion it would be a more pleasant area than Jax NAS.

I have heard that it is "different." People have complained. Look at the Military Park Reviews.

Mayport, on the other hand, was great. See if you can get the front row. If you are in a MH the front window will face the St Johns River inlet and you can watch the ships come and go. Ir you are in a 5er, or TT they will let you pull in other way so that your picture window, if you have one, faces the inlet. You would have to run your connections underneath the rv.

Well, we went to Jax last weekend because we wanted to make a commissary trip also. The park was not bad at all. My wife bought a lot of Angus New York strip steaks at $3.99 per lb. at the commissary. She said we will eat steaks for the price of hamburger.

We've stayed at Key West and was great. Loved having the marina in walking distance.
