Kentucky Derby 2022

I am going to take my wife to the Derby next year. This is a bucket list event for her. Looking for suggestions for where we should stay. Have a 45ft class A.

FMCA puts a package together with camping in the parking lot of the fairgrounds which is close to Churchill.

No campgrounds in Jefferson county. South of Louisville is a KOA and Grandma's, both off of I-65.

There is a very tight little CG in Jeffersonville, IN. Also, there is Charlestown State park in Charlestown, IN. It's nice but no full hookups, just water and electric.

Thanks for the information. Do you know the cost? Do you have to be a FMCA member?

Incorrect. Charlestown SP has FHU's. I know. Been in one.

There is great need for a sarcasm font.

NLOVNIT is correct they do indeed have full hook ups, we make regular trips there. Would be a nice place to stay for Derby, but not as close as the fairgrounds.

Any campground within 100 miles of Louisville will be sky high during Derby Week. Start calling NOW and good luck finding anything. These places are usually booked at least a year in advance. By the way, YOU DO HAVE TICKETS for next years derby already, otherwise forget it. Grandstand tickets are usually sold out years in advance. Infield tickets may still be available, and who knows you might luck out and actually get a glimpse of a horse.

please don't be telling people about Charlestown State Park. Enough people know about it as it is!
