Should you stay at Bluewater Keys......stay on the ocean side, NOT on the canal side. Bluewater is great......and you'll be right on the water (if you get an ocean-side site). There was a great little restaurant at mile marker 13.....but the name escapes me. Have fun !!

No one has mentioned it yet, but remember that the city of Key West proper is not always "kid friendly."
Many adult orientated events going on. Check before you go.

Although I did not see a smile in your post I assume you are kidding.

Well, it is $170.00 per person.
I have wintered in the middle Keys, 4 years now. Took the boat to Dry Tortugas, last winter. Had a great day. Breakfast, lunch and snacks included. Showers and changing rooms after snorkeling, clear, calm waters.

We stayed at 54 the first week of June! Nice lot. Had a great time. We rented kayaks from Big Kahuna rentals for the week. They delivered and picked up. We fished and snorkeled off the dock right there. The Tiki hut is equipped with a refrigerator (although it was unusable due to the previous renters using it as a bait cooler), sink, and tv with cable. Plenty of outlets to plug in music, phones etc. We will return next year. We stayed at the Casino of the Tnpk near Homestead the night before we checked in. Worked out perfectly.

Thank for the info, the only thing we are doing different is we are carrying our own kayaks. We are looking forward to the use of the dock and Tiki Hut, sounds liken its going to be perfect for our stay!
I looked and I could not find a kayak rental named Big Kahuna rentals, are you sure that was the name? I still need to rent a kayak for two.

You can call Amy at BWK..she can recommend a boat/kayak rental co...seems like they are on Summer.and Key. Also check with the guys at Sugarloaf Marina.
If you are carrying your own kayaks, there is a park with kayak ramp over on The Atlantic side at the bridge crossing Sugarloaf Creek.

FWIW, Boyds CG is not on Key West island, it is on Stock island.
I too highly recommend Dry Tortugas National Park. This day trip is worth the expense, and you'll learn all about Dr. Mudd's stay there.
