The Turtle Hospital was mentioned - we also enjoyed the Dolphin Research Center. Reserve early for the boat trip to Dry Tortugas NP! We also stayed in Marathon at Jolly Roger - pre hurricane - thought it was a very good location - spent a week touring around the Keys.

Lots of great places, been there numerous times and never had a bad meal!
I always eat at Konch Republic, several other great places to eat in that area
Dry tortugas is a awesome trip, probably my favorite national park to visit
Bahia Honda is also worth a visit. Good snorkeling, great beach etc.....
Snorkeling trip is a must if the water is clear.

I do not think anyone mentioned John Pennekamp in Key Largo.

Hemingway house is a good tour, as is the Truman little White House. If you have to go to MargaritaVille on Duvall it’s fine for lunch. The MargaritaVille resort has a great bar for watching the sunset. Also the Key West “train” is a good way to preview the town, and certain stops have on and off option.

It has camping spots. I have stayed there. They are difficult to get sometimes.
It is just a nice park to visit.
Chilericks suggestions are spot on.

If the campground offers a shuttle, take it. Parking in Key West is quite limited.
The trolly (Old Town Trolly) is a nice way to get a tour and scope out what interest you.
I don't remember the name, but near the White Street pier there is a butterfly atrium that is unique.

Just as a reminder so's you don't stick out too much as a tourist, remember it's pronounced as "KONK Republic", not as "KON-sh Republic".
A lot of good places were named. Part of the fun is also to find some new ones that suit you fine.
By the way, if you pour all of the sand out of your shoes, you will never come back. Keep a little in there!

The skirt steak is one of the top five steaks that I have ever had. Highly recommend.
