KOA in Leavenworth, WA (Don't do it!)
Just returned from a frustrating holiday weekend at this campground and want to let everyone know that this is by far the worst campground we have ever stayed at! Let me start by saying that we try not to stay at KOA campgrounds because they are all overpriced compared to state and most private campgrounds. KOA's that we have stayed at have operated on basically a first-come first-serve basis with a reservation. This means you make a reservation but don't have a guaranteed site until you show up and they put you in what ever slot they decide. They just started a new program that for an extra $10 you could guarantee a site but at $77 a night you would think you should be able to pick a site when you book your reservation. We where camping with another family and requested to be next to each other at the time we made our reservations which is a total joke! We both have 38ft class A's so we don't fit in just any slot which they didn't understand. Sites where horribly small and difficult to get backed into because of all the parked cars at the cabins and the small access roads. No grass at most sites, bathrooms where filthy, the staff that checked us in where not helpful at all and rude! I would rather stay in a parking lot than this campground again!

We've stayed there a couple of times and agree that it is overpriced for what you get. When we have stopped there we wanted to overnight before heading home so we wouldn't get in too late. Most probably use it as a destination stop to visit Leavenworth. There aren't too many other options right in that area.
There are a couple of pull through sites by the entrance that probably would have met your needs. They also seem awkward to get into but we did it with ourv35' plus toad.

I have to agree that they are a poor value. "KOA" = Keep On Adding.
Upkeep was lacking and we had to buy a mandatory "option" of a breakfast pass for all of us. Site was barely long enough for the 40' MH and had to park the Ody sideways. Cost us over $100 a night and we only did it so the grandkids could swim and play the games.

I stayed at a KOA in Salt Lake City. Not a bad experience. Only there for 2 nights while traveling from CA to Mt Rushmore and back. One KOA in Rapid City. I viewed each location as a place to sleep while touring the area as tourists. Another time at the one East of Barstow, your in the desert. Nothing else to say about that.

We stayed at the KOA in Kent, Wa. All of the negative experiences that you discuss were the same problems we encountered. We will NEVER stay there again.

I dislike KOAs........they charge for each kid or animal in your coach etc. We joined Thousand Trails and stayed at their resort park in Leavenworth this summer. No problems. Sanford

While staying at Lake Wenatchee State Park in 2013, we toured the KOA in Leavenworth. Not impressed at all and no way would we stay there with our 40' plus toad. Went down the road to Wenatchee River County Park in Monitor. Much better choice, beautiful grounds, closer to Wenatchee and Chelan, still a short drive to Leavenworth.
