Lake Havsu BLM sites

We are heading to Havasu and have heard about the BLM dry camp sites around MP 167-an area we have heard called "the steps". Is anyone familiar with area? Wondering about access-we are towing a 22' trailer behind a 30' coach. We camped across from the park south of town last year where they fire off the fireworks but don't believe I can access this year unless the access in has been modified-fairly deep ditch going in.

Shea Rd out or Parker an option but with the race coming will be busy. Anyone camp off Cianeagra (?) Rd?
Happy camping to all.

The "steps" you are asking about is not BLM land, it's State Trust land and you need a STATE LAND RECREATIONAL USE PERMIT to stay there. Just this year the state started enforcing the requirement and patrol the area. The permit is only $20 but you have to get it through the mail, no online or retail option. They do provide quick a quick turnaround though.
