For folks who have never been to Colorado, the color on that video probably seemed artificial. It wasn't. That's the way it really looks.

My only quibble with that video has to do with the view of Ice Lake, near Silverton, at the 30 second mark. Believe it or not, the color on the video did not quite do it justice. This is what that lake really looks like -- and that is DW glamorously posing on the shore. (This is what passes for glamor among senior citizens, anyhow.)

Dan,

Just pack that Trailer and Get out'a Cali - Colorado is Waiting - YES you are Correct - it's almost a waste to take a piture - as they are seldom ture to the Color you aee in Person.

Must be why we continue to Go and See/Enjoy/Bask in the beauty that those Mountains Possess - The Sky is never Bluer and the Lakes are Never a Deeper Color than you See in the Mountains - Shear Beauty - Your images capture it better than Most (Think you may use PhotoShop to get them to Match your Minds Eye ) That's not Cheating Because You and I Know what it really Looks Like. -

So every now and Then we need to watch a Great Video - this one is exceptional - and just dream of being there again.

We are in Countdown mode - leave in 10 days for the trip I've dreamed about for years- Both Son's and all the Granddaughters - Heaven in the Rockies. (Covid Bonus, as they both can still work and travel)

Seriously doubt I'll get any Images of your Quality but I'll still share them over the Winter.

Thanks as Always, I'm Fan of your great adventures.

Bill

Holy moly, that drone video was the best! We've seen a couple things shown on it, but haven't seen the rest. Time to go visit our friends in Colorado for sure.
Thanks

Do you want to stay closer to home? Arkansas and Missouri have some gorgeous places. They are hot, but less hot than you probably are in Louisiana. Both states have lovely state parks, some in their mountainous areas and some on lakes. There are a lot of Corps of Engineers campgrounds too. Campsites generally come with at least electricity, many with water and electricity, and some with full hookups. There are lovely backroads through the hills to drive. Don’t get me wrong - CO is my favorite, but it is a longer drive.

That is certainly an option, though we have done 3-4 trips to or through Arkansas in the last 4 years. Missouri may be a better option as we have only been to the Branson area.

South Dakota is wide open.
Do a trip. Lots to see.
We cancelled Maine because they are not allowing out of state camping until July.
So we are going to Mt. Rushmore.
We always talked about going for over 20 yrs. Had a trip planned in 2000 but cancelled it when my partner got sick and almost died.
So we’re going now

Just got back from South Dakota. Had a great time. If you take I-90 through Minnesota, don't miss the Spam museum (if it's open by then).Click image for larger version

Well the reason to potentially end up in Kansas is now gone, the conference has been converted to being an online virtual conference.

Perfect! Now you can go anywhere as long as you have an internet connection.

Here's to hoping you are still able to take the trip.
