Lexington KY Campgrounds
Does anyone have a recommendation for a good campground in the Lexington/Frankfort, KY area? We just decided to go the the RV show in Louisville, KY and feel most of the campgrounds around the Louisville area will be full. We'll be coming thru WV.
Need 50 amp and 42' plus toad.

Check on Elkhorn Campground in Frankfort & my review of it in the Campgrounds section.

Kentucky Horse Park is a lovely campground and the Horse Park itself is well worth a visit, whether you are a "horse person' or not. It takes a several hours to tour the museums and the horse park, including the daily shows and demonstrations. By all means stop there for a couple of nights if you are anywhere in the area.

A friend had some electrical problems after hooking up so check the polarity before you plug in.
The area is beautiful KY horse country and the nearby "Bourbon Trail" is worth touring to see how Bourbon Whiskey is made. Be sure to see Woodford Reserve and Makers Mark, even if you do not drink liquor.
If you are there when Keeneland Race Track is meeting, do not miss it. It's a beautiful place and home to the yearling sales that bring high rollers from all over the world. Queen Elizabeth usually has a representative there for the sale and she has been known to visit the Whitney farm privately with no public announcement.

Thanks for all the replies. Especially the Woodford Reserve (my drink on the rocks) tour.
