We stayed at
Maumelle Campground , an Army Corps of Engineers park on our way out to Texas for the National Rally last summer.
It's located on the Arkansas River just outside of Little Rock and I think this is the park Don is referring to. In addition to the excellent setting for camping there is boating, fishing, or just plain old getting away from it all. The campground has 129 sites with electric and water and a dump station. There are hot showers, a boat launch, a playground, and public telephones for those who need that stuff.
Also, at $18 a night for a 30 amp site you can't beat it. ($20 for 50 amps). Plus, with the Golden Age or Golden Access cards the it's half price. I don't think you can beat it anywhere.
