Question Looking for Big Rig Friendly campgrounds near Stamford CT

Hi everyone,

My family will be heading to New England to visit friends and family this summer, and are looking for a good base to set up camp. Can anyone recommend one or more big-rig friendly campgrounds in or near Stamford CT? We'd like to be North of NYC, but within an hour by car (90 min max).

Thanks!
littlec

p.s. Public, private, or personal sites are fine, as long as there's a full hookup.

littlec,
We were visiting New Canaan ,Ct several years ago and the closest big rig friendly campground was Croton Point Park at Croton on Hudson. If you're interested in going into the city there is a train station right outside the park. here's the web site from RV Park Reviews where you can get more info if you haven't found a place yet.

I am not sure how close this is for you but we stayed at a place called Aces High Campgound in East Lyme, CT. a few years back. It was a little pricy, but it had very large pull-through sites and was close to the highway.

Thanks, Faith! My trip was a little delayed, but will try to get out there late summer or in the fall!
