Frontier Town RV park in Berlin Md. Very nice park. There is a lot to do there . They even have their own water park. It's close to Assateague Island.
Their sister park Ft Whaley RV park in Whaleyville, Md. offers nice amenities as well.

Holly Shores and Beachcomber RV parks in Cape May, NJ have a lot to do and very helpful hosts.

You might also want to look at Country Acres Campground Gordonville, Pa. (middle of the Amish Country) Quiet setting not many amenities but gorgeous area.

There are a lot of others this is just a start.

That depends on what you like to do when camping. We look for places to sail/kayak and rail trails to ride. Hiking trails are also considered, basically anything involving exercise that keeps us away from people. Also, state parks over private ones. Here are a few winners:
PA
Little Pine State Park- pretty lake, awesome rail trail a few miles away.
Bald Eagle State Park - great trails and awesome lake
Gifford Pinchot State Park- nice lake, great rail trail about half hour away.
Ricketts Glen State Park- waterfall hike is fantastic. You won't care that the camping is just so so, after this hike you will pass out for a long nap!

Delaware
Lums Pond State Park- small lake and the C&O canal bike path nearby. Decent hiking trails
Cape Henlopen State Park - Crowded, small sites, hard to get. But its at the beach. Nuff said
Have a good time researching hope we all can safely camp in the next year.

Biking, hiking, kayaking, look anywhere along the Historic Eire Canalway in NY.

The western Erie is hand dug and flat. Nice bike paths with no hills.

We had to cancel NY this year, will be making new plans for 2021. In 2019 we spent about 2 weeks in PA. Our first stop was at Hickory Hollow CG near Sommerset, PA. It was convenient to Flight 93 Memorial, easy drive to Johnstown, and Falling Water. There is also a very good museum about the region in Sommerset and like many communities they have maps of covered bridges and Pennsylvania barns.

From there we visited Shawnee SP near Schellsburg. Once again, covered bridge tours and it is close to South Fork, location of the dam break that caused the Johnstown Flood.

We were going to go to Gettysburg, we had visited several years before, we were not enthused with the park where we stayed and could not find a location (who knew Halloween was such a big deal?) so we ended up near Lexington and stayed at Country Acres in Gordonsville.

More covered bridges, Amish country, Lexington farmers market, Train Museum in Strasburg. Much to see, we needed more time but we had reservations and tickets for a tour of Congress so we had to move on.

Love baseball?

How about scenic Cooperstown, NY

Besides the Hall of Fame, micro breweries in the area... don't forget to visit Ommegang Brewery. If you like biking check out Catskill Scenic Trail or Erie Canal Cruises, both make great day trips and are about 50 minutes away.

Hartwick Highlands Campground

I guess alot depends on where you are coming from. The Eastern Shore of the Chesapeake Bay seems to be an often forgotten area.

Dover DE has a casino & the track as well as the museum at Dover AFB. Killens Pond SP is a little S of town. A half hour W in Denton, MD is Martinak SP. A gem of a SP with great kayaking & an easy day trip drive to St Michaels with one of the best maritime museums around dealing with everything Chesapeake Bay.

If you are in Cooperstown, be sure to visit the historic village. You can spend a day wandering through the exhibits and original as well as restored buildings.

We really liked Rip Van Winkle in Saugerties NY. It was actually our favorite of the season. Wooded sites. Fishing. Great area. Killens Pond was nice but not much for kids to do. We like a little bit of space. Hershey Park camping resort was awful. Literally have a fire ring next to your neighbors camper. And loud.
