Looking for Wintertime RV parking - in a warm climate East Coast!
Hello fellow RVer's!
I hope you can help me with this - I'm looking for a great great safe campground for our RV for the wintertime that won't get colder than 40 degrees or so, and that is fairly close to a major airport.
Except, I've been told that I'm not allowed to look in Florida.
Any suggestions?
Thank you!

How about New Orleans? I haven't stayed there, but Lake Ponchartrain Park (outside of New Orleans) was getting excellent reviews in another thread.

Lake Ponchartrain
I think DH would be nervous about leaving our RV there for the wintertime - just too close to the water for him! Looks nice, though and I like the thought of shuttle service to different areas.

Who set those rules? Can't be done on East coast unless you go to Southern Florida.

Who set the rules?
DH set the rules! We're trying to find the right place to retire to - and he definitely does not want Florida.
All I want is so that the weather is mostly good enough for me to get out there and ride my bicycle! And I really don't want snow.
I'm not even giving you the list of the other requirement's he's put for our retirement location - you'd choke laughing!

Hate to tell you this, but deep FL is the only place where you have any chance of not seeing below 40 degrees in the Winter.
Next go to deep TX and it is no guarantee.

I just noticed you said East Coast...maybe try Southern Georgia Coast.
I know there are some great places in Southern Texas. Try Mission, Pharr, San Juan, and Donna areas. Winter Texans!

The lowest recorded temp for Miami is 30 so you are really going to have to go south. Key West however has only gotten down to 41. Expensive down there but worth every penny IMHO.

I think as a general rule you will be pretty comfortable in the coastal areas of South Carolina and Georgia. Yes they get down below 40 occasionally, but they warm up pretty quick during the day, and you would be able to ride your bike every month of the year.

Thanks all!
Thank you for these replies - I hope to get more, and be able to research a bit - we also need to find a place - that I can get to via a nonstop flight as easily as possible. You'd think that would be easy to find, but it isn't!
Yes, I know, it would be much easier to just move south - but the job is up here....

The Fairharbor RV park (link in above post) in Perry, GA is close to the Groome Transportation (link below) pickup point in Warner Robins, GA. They have a large (free) parking lot where you can leave your car. They make 27 trips a day to the Atlanta Airport that costs $71 round trip. The Atlanta airport is approximately 100 miles from Perry. My wife has used them and says she was dropped off/picked up in front of her departure/arrival terminal at the Atlanta airport and it was a lot less stressful than having to drive. If you can't get a direct flight out of Atlanta I don't think you will be able to get one out of the SE.
