Louisville, KY to Princeton, NJ

Going to be traveling from Louisville, KY to Princeton, NJ in a few weeks. I am looking for the best routes and campgrounds along the way. Not adverse to toll roads but if not that much better, then why bother? Thanks for your input... and safe travels.

I go to Louisville couple times per year from Middletown, NJ. First time went I-78 to I-81 to I-70 to I-68 to I-79 to I-64. Scenic route through WV, mountains not too bad. Not many campgrounds on route. Stayed once at a Walmart on I-81 just before I-70 and then stayed at KOA in Ashland KY. Other way is Pennsylvania Tpk to I-70 to I-71. Stayed in Shawnee State Park near Bedford PA and Dillon State Park near Zanesville OH.

In June, will go via Washington, D.C. To see daughter on our way. Will then go down I-81 to I-64.
