I now have this bookmarked for future reference https://www.ferrellgas.com/locations/all-locations/
At one place I stay for extended periods, there's a Ferrellgas literally next door, and I went there until I actually compared prices. After that, I'd drive about 10 miles to Tractor Supply to fill my onboard tank. I had to back in at Tractor Supply, but at least it was a straight shot, as opposed to Ferrellgas, where you had to maneuver while backing in to the fill station.

Then I got a 20-pound cylinder and this Ferrellgas charges a flat rate regardless of how much they actually put in, and it's not cheap. So I drive a couple of miles to a garden supply place, where they charge by the gallon, and it's about half the price per gallon at Ferrellgas even if Ferrellgas is filling a dead empty tank. Plus at the garden place I could economically top it off if a snowstorm was coming and I wanted to start with full tank.

Other Ferrellgas locations might be better priced and have easier access, but I'm not going to assume anything without calling a given location. The only really reliable propane-getting tactic I have is that a given Tractor Supply location might have a propane refueling station, but even if it does, they might not fill onboard tanks on motorhomes. However, if they do, I can be pretty sure it will be a decent price. although I will almost certainly have to back in to the refueling station.

And every TS propane fueling place I've been charges by the gallon for cylinders, rather than a flat rate.

I've bought propane at a campground only a few times, and it was always relatively expensive, but I did it because it was convenient.

Many gas stations have tank fills. When at a campground just put it in your vehicle & drive to the nearest one. No need to take the RV with you.

We have generally had good service and propane pricing from Tractor Supply. Next on the list is some Ace Hardwear stores.

The two private RV campgrounds I just stayed at had propane fill options and I used them both.

At home before my trips I will top off at a local gas station that does refills.

Locally, $10 a fill (18#) at a propane dealer near us. They do so many they have a full time employee that does nothing else.

I have only had a tank filled once at an rv park. It ended up costing 2x the price what I normaly paid. It was convenient. I removed the tank left it on the pad in front of the camper and they came picked it up refilled it and dropped it off.

My fill of 6.7 gallons (near empty 30lb) tank) was $20.87 yesterday. That's cheaper than a 20lb exchange

A 20 lb exchange like blue rhino, only give you 15 lbs of propane. We try to avoid doing that, but if we must, Walmart has the lowest price. For propane filling, Tractor Supply very reasonably priced all over the country. Not worth the effort to look further.

If you're in the Canadian prairie's there's no short supply of propane filling stations. But that's if you're traveling this way.

It was $1.4/litre. I'm guessing I have a 60 litre onboard as it cost me just above $80 from completely empty.

Almost all Co-ops have them. Some independent gas stations and Canadian tires. I've never been to Costco but they have them too.

Filling propane tanks

Anywhere to get a LP tank recertified? Called last summer to get a 30# RV tank recertified and noone was doing that. And with the new law, needing the new type valve would require valve change. Mine has the new valve. I'd worked 4 years in a propane plant as a kid. SamG.
