Campgrounds along trip - we cheated sometimes!
Walmarts and Rest Areas, between Mass. and the Dells, then spent 2 nights at American Resort in the Dells, walking distance to mount olympus amusement park.
Through Minnesota and the drive-a-tank place (great), one night at KOA in Sioux Falls just off the highway, then to Rafter J for 4 nights in Hill City. Left late the 3rd night to avoid thunderstorms onroute. Up to MOA for the Magiquest there, then another rest area night, and cheated camping by staying at Great Wolf Lodge in Mason, OH. for 2 nights. We even day-camped the dogs at a local place so they could stay cool while we enjoyed the waterpark without worry. Mason OH to Woodland PA for a nights stay at Woodland Campground (great place) just off 84 (I think). Then home. 4300 miles driving distance, 13 nights, 14 days, and the first thing the kids said when we got home - "Best vacation they ever had! "

The trip

It was a great trip. I'm sorry we didn't get to meet Bob - out at the Mall of America - but we only went there for the magiquest and to say we were there. Good. Done. The dogs were wicked hot in the RV so we needed to scram out of there.

We met some very nice people on the road - one couple had just purchased their first Really cool motorhome (40ft of luxury with 352 mirrors,) and had a tow vehicle with them for their first trip from ND to FL. Wow were they daring! We still haven't added a toad!

The owners of Woodland campground in Woodland, PA are very nice - they just bought the campground last year (they lived in NY), and have already deleted some sites because they feel that you need more space and want to give RVers the space. Their sites are relatively level, pebbles, and they have plans to improve every year with stuff. We will definately go back there. It's just a short distance off the highway. Unbelieveably, a can of soda was only .65 cents! Coming from Massachusetts, we were SHOCKED!!! (happy too, but shocked nevertheless!)
