Michigan??

We’re in Indiana Amish country this week and thinking about going to Petoskey for a few days. It appears camping is open but what about restaurants and tourist sites. I hate to drive all the way North to find most places closed. Thanks

Pick your destination and call them. We plan to head to Shipshewanna, In Flea Market in 2 weeks and have verified they are opened.
From what I understand is that most of N. Mich is open, but many special events have been cancelled for the year like the Buckley Tractor Show and the Octagon Barn Family Days events.

Thanks. We’re headed to Shipshewana today. Beautiful weather here and most everything open at 50 percent capacity.

Sounds good, thanks. Our favorite restaurant is in Middlebury, Das Dutchman Essenhaus. https://essenhaus.com/
If you need any RV parts, Bontragers RV Surplus is good place to stock up on anything RV related.

Most of the restaurants and tourist destinations are either open or will be shortly. If you make it up to Petoskey, you might head north from Petoskey along M-22. (Tunnel of Trees) Very nice drive. An interesting restaurant to try would be Legs Inn in Cross Village. Their website says they'll be open the 17th of June.

Have a nice trip!

From what I gather that area is open for business.

Here now at Hearthside Petoskey. Restaurants are open for inside dining. Barber shop down the street is open. Some small stores have signs stating masks are requires some don’t. The pool is open (at least here) with sign saying to social distance unless you are family members.
Went to Mackinac Island and maybe 25% of the passengers on the ferry were wearing masks. Restaurants, bars and shops were open on the island.

Thanks for the replies. It sounds promising and we haven’t been North of Traverse City so I think we may head that way.

Petoskey State Park is nice if you can get in there. They are doing construction, but Tannery cg is open. They have a great sandy beach and looking for petoskey stones is entertaining.

Depending on what you want there are many choices in Petoskey.

Petoskey RV Resort is on Highway 31 west of the city and is very nice. It is a short 5 minute drive to downtown.

Petoskey KOA is one of the nicest KOA's you'll find. It is north of the city just off the highway. Closer to Makinaw City.

All of these places fill up pretty fast during the summer better to get reservations as soon as possible.

1 mile north of the KOA is Hearthside Grove. Very upscale Class A only resort. Very expensive but extremely nice.

My wife and I are venturing out from our Milwaukee area homebase to Petoskey on Saturday for a week. We are staying at the Sun RV resort there (not the Sun KOA but the other one.) Any other intel on places to see etc up there would be great to hear! Thanks!

Here is a older post on Mich travel (mostly Upper) that might be worth reading.

Also a popular Mich destination show.
