Michigan State University East Lansing MI - Football weekend 11/27 & 28

Does anyone have any knowledge of available RV spots at MSU? My stepson was just accepted for next year & planning on leaving Fri 11/27 to tour university's campus then attend FB game Sat 11/28 against Penn State. Any & all info you can provide is very much appreciated!!
Looking for info to stay Fri night & possibly Sat. not sure if Walmart allows overnight in East Lansing?
Thanks,,
Stan

My info may be out of date but...

There is a Wal-Mart in Okemos that is maybe five miles from campus that usually lets people park there overnight.

There is game parking for RVs south of stadium on a service road. It is not open overnight and costs $40 to park. We had to have the pass ahead of time when we did it.

We have also had pretty good luck asking to park at The Home Depot in that area.

There aren't any open campgrounds around East Lansing this time of year as I recall.

Good luck, have fun and... Go Green!

No year round campgrounds close. Some state parks in Livingston County, east of East Lansing. Wheel Inn campground south of East Lansing. go to allstays.com and put in East Lansing, MI.

You might try some of these suggestions...don't know how close they would be:

Enjoy Michigan campgrounds in the fall and winter - RV vacations remain affordable, Michigan Association of Recreation Vehicles (RVs) and Campgrounds (MARVAC)

This may seem a bit strange but there are dog shows at the MSU Pavillion this weekend. There is RV parking available with 30 amp electric but no other hookups. Here is info concerning the "campground"
Camping Information
Campsites will be available beginning Monday. Security will not be provided until Thursday.
RV parking will be allowed only in designated areas.
Gravel Campsites are available for $30.00 per night, (which includes electrical hookup). Payable at show office upon arrival. [inside the Pavillion]
ALL RVs parked overnight must pay a camping fee.

I think there is a dump station located at the Pavillion.

The closest Walmart in Lansing/East Lansing does not allow overnight parking.

Enjoy your trip - MSU is a great school.
