Minnesota State Parks Closed

I saw on the news that all of Minnesota's state parks have been closed. I didn't see the reason but I have to think it was budgetary. I'm sure that others around the country have also been closed as parks are surely considered to be low priority when other things are factored in. It takes money to keep parks functioning and I don't see a lot of that happening in the near future.

They failed to pass a budget so the whole government shuts down. I don't think that goes for police.
All government offices, DL facility, courts, state parks closed until further notice.

Ah, but the governor and legislature are still getting paid. The Republicans were voted in to cut spending and hold the line on taxes - income and sales), and the governor is a millionaire (Dayton family) Democrat who wants to raise the income tax on millionaires by 2%. The Republicans gave a budget to the governor to sign. But will not change it to add the 2% millionaire tax. Impass....

In addition to the closed state parks, the rest areas are also closed. Needless to say visitors and many Minnesotans are unhappy.
