I have. We spent one night there while passing through the area. The people that run it are very nice. When you enter the CG the sites to your left are very close and maneuvering can be a challenge. The sites off to the right seemed a little larger and not as crowded. The road that goes up the hill is pretty steep but paved if I remember correctly. Sites up there are pretty hilly. There is a low clearance bridge somewhere near there so if your rig is tall check with the CG to make sure it’s not an issue. Have fun.

We stayed there couple of years ago at our Newmar State Rally. Just a tad bit tight depending on which site they put you on, might have to unhook the toad before you get in the site. We are 43’10” and did not have any issues.

Stayed there last summer, it’s nice campground. It has two major areas, one where you will see larger units with long pull thrus and second one up on a hill that is heavily wooded. If I’m ever back in that area I would stay there again.

Mountains are near, but most RV sites are to the left and to me that gives you a parking lot. That area of US 250 is not the greatest view. they have some campsites up a mountain to the rear of the CG. Very steep road. It is a decent place if you want to spend time in Charlottesville. If you want to stay in the CG and you are not venturing out, go 25 miles further west to Stuarts Draft, VA. Shenandoah Acres CG is a good spot. Friday night buffet and a Sunday brunch buffet from the adjoining restaurant.
Main thing is enjoy wherever you may go!

We do 2 or 3 long weekends a year at Misty Mountain. It fills up early for weekends in summer and especialy in fall when the leaves turn. Reserve early.
As others have said the campground is broken into 3 sections; to the left it is tight but most rigs can easily make it. To the right there are a center section of large pull thru's with tent and small rig sites in the rear and some water electric only on the far right side. UP the STEEP hill to the top rear the sites are somewhat tighter and the land is very hilly and steep. I have not attempted to stay in those with either our 5th wheel or current MH.
Not very scenic but lots to do in the area. Close to Charlottesville and Waynesboro and Staunton. Also route 151 is closeby and has many, many local brew pubs, hard cider, wineries, etc. Great place to eat and relax with a cold whatever. Short drive up to the Blue Ridge Parkway for a nice picnic and relaxing drive or hike.
Hope this helps and have a great trip.

Hands down the best in the area is Devils Backbone Brewing Company in Roseland VA, about 30 minutes from Charlottesville. Great brewery, good restaurant and beautiful scenery.
