MN Flat Lander made it back from Colorado

Thanks to All for the advice...I used a lot of it. As I guessed I should stay away from the advice of you experienced mountain drivers as I steered clear of the Million Dollar Highway with my 43' diesel pusher - some of you said do it. I won't drive my coach on that highway in my life time. Coming from the South would be best as you are on the inside of the lane most of the way. I did see a Provost pulling a dual axle-stacker trailer go on it....but he had to be very experienced and not scared to squeeze other traffic. Monarch pass and the rest - no problem with the engine brake. Hardly touched the brake peddle. Someone mentioned Eisenhower pass would be worse than Monarch - you are right. To much traffic and semi's on Eisenhower. Found a great state park called Mueller and checked out Garden of the Gods and found a small town called Cripple Creak...an old mining Town full of casino's. We stayed at Ridgway State Park and traveled into Ouray and Silverton with our car. Didn't do the train as the track hadn't been repaired yet and the buses were not running. Thanks for all of the forum comments for direction on things to do. Great trip.

Nice report.
A couple more trips like that and you will be ready for the "Million Dollar Highway"
We did it pulling the Toad a few years ago, south bound in late Sept. The fall colors were in their glory. I'll do in the spring, north bound in a year or so.
