There are several in town. What do you mean by close? I would sacrifice a quick drive for one of the most incredible places on the planet and stay in Arches National Park in Devil's Garden CG. You won't be disappointed. It is about a 30 minute drive into town from heaven.

Canyonlands Campground is in town across from the brewery. It has FHU, cabins, and tent sites. Very convenient if you don't have a toad.

Yep, Canyonlands CG is a great place to stay. Walk all of town.

I agree with CL. We usually stay at Spanish Trail. There is a LOT to see in Moab but you need a car.

IN town? Canyonlands CG. It's shaded ( a rarity in Moab) and tight spaces but it is IN town.

I have stayed twice at Pack Creek Campground & RV Park - Moab Utah Affordable Family Camping it is the only campground in the area that is not right next to the main highway that runs through town. It's Quiet And it does have Trees (shade). shower house/Bathrooms are clean as is the laundry room. Very good rates as well. If i find some summer work in moab you will probably find me there in June and July.
I think it is about a mile from town and quite close to the off road/biking trails behind town.

Can't imagine visiting Moab without a toad...so many things and areas to explore - and they're all spread far apart. You guys must be 'hardcore' cyclists. Have fun, it's a very special place.

We stayed at Spanish Trail also. Nice park, shade trees and not far out of town.

I took about the same picture. Also the red rock cliffs behind the park are great. (Our previous motorhome and previous toad in picture #2)
