Monterrey Mexico

Thinking about going to Texas with the MH this summer. If we do we are thinking of a side trip to Monterrey Mexico. Has anyony done this or have any info on camping there, and safety?

We are wintering in the RGV in Mission Texas. A large group of Canadians left here in January on a caravan and just returned. According to them the drug violence has run most of the tourists off. The parks are empty and the thieves have stolen most of the electrical and some of the plumbing out of the parks. Few are still open and they say if they don't get help from the state they too will close. We did not go south. Even in Nuevo Progresso the cartels have had a couple of large shootouts lately and the police/military presence is now heavy as they do not want to lose the Winter Texans business. Good luck, be safe.

Come to Sonora or BC. Lots of safe places to visit.

My biggest concern would be for safety. I've seen some folks that have done it in caravans. I however, would rather err on the side on caution, not put my hamily at risk, or my coach in jeopardy. It's just not worth it.
