Motorcoach Resorts in Michigan......
I have been looking at resorts in Michigan, can folks tell me about the ones they liked and why. There seems to be some really plush and nice resorts in Michigan. We are going for two weeks, maybe a week in one spot, and a week in another spot.....Looking to go maybe in June, good time/bad time? Is there places to get off the beaten path in the Jeep and sight see and have fun? Thanks in advance......

Not sure where in Michigan, but in Petoskey there is a fabulous place:
Bay Harbor Motorcoach Resort
stayed there for a week and traveled all around including Mackinaw Island.

Also take a look at Hearthside Grove near Petosky and Sleeping Bear Dunes. Very very nice. It is a class "A" only resort. Beautiful landscaping.
Indigo Bluffs just south of Petosky is also nice. That park has two sections, a class A section and a section for C and 5ers.

There are only 3 Motorcoach RV resorts in MI that I am aware of. Two were mentioned above, the 3rd is Traverse Bay RV Resort near Traverse City. You would be happy with any of the 3 !!

There is also another nice resort south of Big Rapids called River Ridge Resort. It sits directly on the Muskegon River has pontoon boats to rent and 15 miles of river to enjoy between two different dams. Class A, C fifth wheels and travel trailers allowed. Large pool, tennis courts and playground also.
River Ridge is a little south of us and we go there at least one week every year. We go for 3-4 trips per year to Traverse Bay RV Resort near Acme. They allow Class A, C and fifth wheels; no travel trailers.
We haven't made it up to Hearth Side near Petoskey yet. Have driven by it, but we had a Class C up until recently so never stayed there.
Also a nice campground near Muskegon/ Michigan's Adventure Amusement Park. Duck Creek Campground.
All are very enjoyable with lots of areas ready to be explored.

I'll put a plug in for Indigo Bluffs....doesn't have everything over on the Class A RV Resort side yet, but there is a lot of space between lots (wild flowers rather than mowed grass) and very friendly owners and seasonal folks that include you if you want to be included. There is great kayaking on several rives, and a great fishing guide for King and Cohia salmon that works out of the resort. Friday evening social met and greets and several nice golf courses within ten miles. We enjoyed a month there last July/August.

Thanks Dave, Indigo Bluffs is one that we have been looking at along with Hearthside Grove, Thinking of a week in one place and a week in another, so we can check both of them out. Any suggestions on what site to ask for? Thanks for posting

Site 5,6, and 7 are very nice. We stayed in site 36...highest point in the park and the only place you can pick up spotty over the air TV. GreenBay in the AM and Petoskey/Grand Rapids in the afternoon. That's the one downside. Most all sites will get satellite fine.
If I were to go back I'd ask for 36 or 5.

No bad sites at hearthside Grove. Some sites will have upgrades, but they'll charge a daily rate of $30 or so extra to use the fire pits for gas.
I thought Bay Harbor looked nice at Petoskey, and I heard both Traverse RV Resort and Cherry Hill were nice.

Sunybrook RV Resort in South Haven is what I would call an A- resort. Actually very nice but not anywhere near as beautiful as Hearthside Grove. BUT there are three nearby towns that are awesome to visit: South Haven, Saugatuck, and Holland. Thereis a whole lot to do and see in the area and this is what makes Sunnybrook a really fine place to stay.
