Military famcamps arenít meant for active duty or anyone working on the base. Air Force has AFi 34-110 plainly states the above.

You make a great point.

On a iRV2 military thread - - - retirees are moaning that many active duty personnel are PCSd to a base and are living in an RV in the Famcamp. Of course taking up precious spaces. I am not sure what branch these Famcamps are in.

What a savings for these troops as they still receive their full BAH.

Needs some command emphasis!!!

Most of the active duty personnel I've seen using Famcamps are either on leave, or TDY. They're still getting paid BAH because they're probably still maintaining a household at their permanent duty station. More power to them if they can go TDY, take their RV, and bank the difference between what their paid for housing while TDY and what the Famcamp costs!
