Nashville Motorcycle Roads

I'll be in the Nashville area for about a week. I know absolutely nothing about that area, so I'm at the mercy of google and internet people who know more about that area than me. I'm looking for some fun roads that I can enjoy on a motorcycle. I'm not a racer and am certainly not an expert rider, but I do enjoy being able to lean over a bit. I also like a nice view while riding. Interstates are miserably boring.

Does anyone know of any nice enjoyable roads in the Nashville area?

I am staying in the Cedars of Lebanon State Park. It's south of I-40 on the east side of Nashville.

Red boiling springs
Heading North East of you.
80 to 52 North.

Get off on most any country road and you'll be in bikers heaven.

Red boiling springs used to have a little motorcycle shop, museum.

But it will make a great day trip.
Red Bolling springs east to the Celina area and a ride around the two lakes , Dale hollow Being to the East.

You can ride a different way, South East, South West every day and find wonderfull scenery and smooth roads. Very little traffic.

Enjoy

Go explore. [emoji6][emoji41]

Check out the Tail of The Dragon. About 3 hours from Nashville. Can take 70 or I-40. https://tailofthedragon.com 13 miles of curves. Google it for directions. It is south of Maryville on 129 and runs to Robinsville, NC. It is worth the ride. Also check out the Cherohala Skyway The Cherohala Skyway, a National Scenic Byway can make a loop ride. This is more open with beautiful views of the mountain. Enjoy Nashville and the rides. Keep it sunny side up. Safe travels.

Can't really go to wrong on any road in the Smokies. You might want to give the Blue Ridge Parkway a try. Pretty easy ride with lots of overlooks. You might also want to give the Land between the Lakes a try, pretty rural. Really don't see where you can go wrong. If you go to the Dragon watch out for the hot dogs on the crotch rockets, they're everywhere. I've ridden it at least twice (I may have been there years ago before it had a name) and although a nice ride it's no tougher than a lot of other mountain roads. It does however make for good street cred. Best of luck and keep the knees in the breeze.

Check this map out for a good ride also. I have not taken it, but have heard good reports of the ride. Natchez Trace Parkway. Not far from where you are staying. This is a map and information. https://www.nps.gov/natr/planyourvisit/maps.htm Safe riding.

Smokies are at least 3.5 hours east of where the OP is staying just east of Nashville and Blue Ridge Parkway is even further away on the other side of the Smokies in VA & NC, although the southern end is not far from the East entrance to SMNP.

As another poster suggested, I would recommend the Natchez Trace Parkway. No trucks, but watch out for the bicycles. Beautiful fall colors coming soon.

So you didn't say what week you were going to be here.... so, you might add that ... you are about 15 miles from us, we use to ride our horses through Ceders of Lebanon State Park quite often.

As for MC rides, from where you are staying take a trip down to Bell Buckle, then over to Lynchburg and tour the Jack Daniels distillery and the town of Lynchburg, you will really enjoy it.. If you are there on a Saturday morning at 10am go in to the Bar B Que Caboose in Lynchburg, a friend of ours does a Saturday morning life radio show with lots of great music for an hour... (my wife has been on it several times over the last 10 years Tell him Dave and Adrienne from Lebanon says hello) and Mr. Paul Jones is really a nice guy! You can take back roads to both and it's really a nice day ride.. there is another distillery "Dickel" I think not far from JD.... I have not been to that one but, folks have said it's nice.

Natchez Trace that someone else mentioned is very nice but watch your speed or they will get you for sure!

If your in to the Civil War then look for the tour of the 3 big Civil War Houses in the Franklin and Spring Hill area.... the tour is well worth it and I find the stories they tell about the battles amazing...

Lots to do.. Nashville is crazy but you have to go downtown at least once :-)

Good Luck... Have fun and be careful!

Thanks for all the suggestions. I'm not in the Nashville area anymore, but got in some wonderful riding. I decided to head back south down to Louisiana. The roads leave much to be desired, but the food is so good.
