Nebraska in fall

Looking to see if there is any worthwhile stops in Eastern Nebraska in late October. We're doing the sugar beet harvest and then heading to Missouri to see family. We plan to head down I-29 but I wanted to stop in Nebraska since it is one state to check off my 50-state list. Any ideas? Anything in Omaha? Just looking for a 1-2 night stay max.

As a side note, how tough will it be to even find campgrounds to stay at there during that time of year?

A few places worth checking out: Mahoney State Park or Louisville State Rec area are both great spots during the fall. A little further south and not too far off of I-29 is Indian Cave State Park

I just enjoyed the SAC Aerospace Museum https://sacmuseum.org/

If you enjoy history, there are a number of Lewis & Clark sites near I29.

Nebraska was my final state as well.

Also, the zoo in Omaha is one of the best in the world

October is a glorious time in Nebraska--the temps are moderate and the trees are usually wearing their fall colors. Arbor Lodge Historical Park in Nebraska City is a nice place to visit as is the Fontenell Forest in Bellevue. I'll second the SAC Air Museum too.
