We like Dorset RV Park in Manchester, VT and Camping on the Battenkill in Arlinton, VT. Very nice and clean. COTB is more woodsy and the Battenkill runs right through the campground. DRP is smaller with less recreation at the park but the bathrooms are immaculate and the campground is kept very clean. I don't think either one has a pool.

Do NOT stay at Lake Bomoseen RV Park unless you like a lot of seasonals and rude employees.

We like Campng on the Battenkill. We also like River's Bend Campground. It is on the Otter Creek. Not lots of bells and whistles but the setting is beautiful next to the creek. It's located near Middlebury which is central on the western side of the state. About 30 miles to Burlington. The VT state parks are beautiful but do not have any hookups.

We found Moose River Campground at St Johnsbury a great family campground with a very friendly owner/host. Interstate 93, Exit 1 (US-2) follow signs. A great park just east of St Johnsbury, Vermont. On the Moose River. Beautiful open, level, grassy sites, full H/U, cable, some with 50 amp.

Also stayed at Sugar Ridge on Route 2 near Danville, VT. http://www.sugarridgervpark.com

If you're looking for a camp ground on the Eastern side, kinda in the middle of Vermont, just off of Rt 89, exit 1, is a Pine Valley RV Resort. Not a big campground, but nicely kept & friendly people running the place.

We stay there at least once a year, I'd recommend sites 2 through 8, if you're looking for a pull through

I second Pine Valley, stayed there last summer in a fiver, very nice CG with a friendly staff, they have pull thrus as well as back in sites, the back in sites are a little tight but lots of room in the pull thrus. It is located in White River Junction, VT they have a website not sure the address. Good luck Ed

Hi George & Joni,
I second Lynnvt's vote on Rivers Bend, it was very nice & peacefull camping by the river! Also there is a very nice place to eat not to far from campground, but I can't remember the name I know that Lynnvt can tell you for sure!! I think it was something like dog house tavern or dog track tavern or dog sleigh taveren !!
