Need a RV Site in or near Oxford, Ms

GLenB here. I have friends that live in Oxford, Ms. and want to visit them for a weekend. Is there a campground we could check on in some area around Oxford?? Have a 39 ft class A would like full hook up but could use dump station for sewer if needed. tks for any input....glen

There is nothing in Oxford other than Wal mart for RVs. The closest thing would be at Sardis Reservoir, there are both state campgrounds and COE campgrounds. You will be 15-30 minutes out from Oxford depending on which campground you choose. I can't recommend any particular place since I haven't stayed at any of them. I have heard good things about Wall Doxey SP north of Oxford near Holly Springs but again, have never stayed there. I live 1.25 hrs away but seldom go there but when I do, I make it a point to eat at least one meal at Ajax. Recommend the meat loaf, chicken and dumplings , and try the squash casserole. And I don't even like squash!

I stay at Sardis 30-50 days year, hook ups, but you Do have to dump. South side of lake has nice RV parks 20 min . From Oxford, Also great fishing ! Also, park says No Alcohol but never problem unless You are the problem! Have stayed at Wall Doxey , but it's a lot further away, Not as nice as Sardis. Enjoy Oxford .
