I've left the area but fall color was coming on strong in Telliride near camp. Went up 57 route near sawpit. I'm a dirt biker so my views of what's easy to see may vary! Also checked out Sneffels..just starting but quite nice. Let me see if I can get photos to post.

Busskipper here,
Big THANK YOU to all those who chipped in and contributed to this Post - Seemed as if the leaves were Beautiful but unlike other years where the Aspen outshine the Landscapes this year they just highlighted it in most Cases. (JMHO)
We were fortunate to visit some of the Best locations in Colorado Again this Year - and we were reminded that Timing is Just the Most Critical Issue to catch these Colors - RT 24 for us provided the most spectacular Color early, with massive Aspen Groves all turning Gold.
The drive through Monarch Pass was surprisingly Beautiful as we worked our way down the to Gunnison - while not as large a display of Color - the Bright sun and the Golden Aspen were exceptional.
Last, when in Ouray - the small groves of Aspen just Highlighted the Massive Rocks that surround the town. Reminding us of the shear Beauty of the Area.
Just one more Thank You to all who contributed and shared so many Beautiful Images for all to Enjoy.
Just a few ore Images to close this out.

This year Early Snow, then weeks of warm Summer weather let them hang out much later than Usual - with few earlier (Normal) massive Golden Mountains than Normal.
It's all in the time you visit - and the place you visit. Loved your Images, they were they way we All love to see it -Massive Mountain Sides of Beautiful Aspen!
Thanks for sharing,
Bonus for us was we were able to run up to Custer for a week and enjoy the Aspen in the Black Hills before returning to Colorado for one last peak at the Aspen and the Cottonwoods.
The West is just Special in the Fall!
On the walk around Sylvan Lake -
All were Beautiful!

This was our first trip to see the fall color and I was afraid we were late. We were not disappointed. Now planning a trip for the spring/summer color from the wild flowers. I was told July 1-15 is probably best time.

Just as this year, most/many of the Aspen were late - so to predict the date of the Summer Wild Flowers is just as Random, and will depend on Elevation and Location - along with precipitation and Luck.
One thing is for sure - if you catch them right you will never Forget Them.
Best of Luck, as no matter what/when, you will need it.

Yes, from our experience around Silverton/Ouray on the trails that time period is a good time but if you miss the prime there will be flowers all summer of some sort. We sat down for lunch along a trail and I stood in one place and counted 28 varieties at my feet; some tiny and many larger - all colors. It's an experience you won't forget.
Also, July 4 in Silverton is awesome. They put on a wonderful parade and the fireworks are top class. We spent 6 weeks in Silverton and the surrounding area at that time and came back for more in future years.
