Need Jacksonville overnight location
We are dealing with a family medical emergency and rushed up to the Jacksonville area a few days ago. We are presently in Hanna RV Park which is very convenient and have a space for Wed & Thur and then Sun forward next week but nothing for Fri & Sat, the 17th & 18th. We maintain a 24/7presence in a hospital room at the Mayo Clinic and switch off every 8 hours or so and being nearby is valuable. We check for cancellations frequently at this park as well as Pelican Roost and Fleetwood RV Park, both within a fair driving distance.
Looking for suggestions on nearby friendly businesses that allow overnights.

Check with the clinic, sometimes they have a place to park for RV's. You said, Pelican Roost, have you checked if any openings at the other park there, Osprey Cove?
I checked Harvest Host and there seem to be about 5 in that area.

Maybe less convenient but there is Flamingo Lake and Pecan Park.

Aren't Pelican Roost and Osprey Cove military? OK if you qualify to get in.

Pelican Roost is AMAZING and cheap. Pecan Park is very nice BUT one the flight path of the airport so you hear a lot of commercial aircraft traffic.

Pecan Park is convenient to the Interstate. It can be a bit noisy.
You might want to call Huguenot. They keep some sites reserved for hosts that are empty at times.

Thanks but Pecan is on the opposite side of Jax and that would be a nightmare at rush hour. Huguenot is on the wrong side of the St Johns and requires a ferry ride.

Yes and I'm a vet with a service connected disability so I understand it, I qualify. I forgot to check on Osprey Cove, thanks for the reminder.

The ferry is out of order for repairs until May 3rd.
We drove thru Huguenot yesterday. Depending on your rig the place has empty sites.
You can drive around easily but time of day is an issue.
Down A1A not too far is Beefalo Village and Frog Hollow. Probably 40 minutes. They are both mobile home parks but may have other sites available.
Sorry you have to go thru all of this.

You get to Huguenot via Heckscher Drive, not the ferry. It will add 25 minutes to Mayo vs from Hanna.

Osprey Cove has cabins. If needed, get a cabin for the couple of days and park the rig, let the fridge run off the battery.

Nice idea, I'll check it out. Probably better than a Walmart parking lot!

You would have hot showers, free laundry. Wife said think about the Navy Lodge, maybe they have a room.

Not sure where the clinic is but Kelly's Countryside RV Park in Callahan would probably have a spot for you. It's about 25 minutes to Jacksonville. Chuck
