New Orleans for 12 days

At the end the end of the month we are headed to New Orleans for 12 days for the long awaited final, fingers crossed, step of my wife’s Cancer battle.
We are looking at staying in NO RV resort and marina, however before we commit just wanted to get feedback on any other places we should look at.

Looking at the pictures of the 5 location in driving range from downtown, none give me the “Yup, that’s the one” feel
We need to be close to her surgery center for daily checkup for the first 10 days.

Thanks

Sorry to hear y'all are battling cancer, but glad you may be near completion of treatment.

I realize it's a bit far, but Pine Crest RV park in Slidell is a nice spot and is quite safe and quiet as well; not a bad drive, and right off I-10. It's a shame there's no affordable place closer to downtown, but real estate has not been adequate in N.O. for years. (We used to live there; wife is a native.)

We stayed at French Quarter RV park and the NO resort and Marina. The French Quarter RV is right in town, but noisy. The resort and Marina is a bit of a drive. Good luck on the treatments.

We have stayed in Bayou Segnette SP as well and liked it well enough. Our particular site was rather difficult to get into, but made it. I am saddened to hear they are closed. We were there in March of 2022.

We stayed at NO RV Resrt several times but not with the new owners. It is a little confusing getting into NO at first ,but not bad once you get the hang of it. We will be in NO the end of next week. The rates were about the same so we chose the KOA for our 5 nights.it is west of town.

Best wishes for your wife's treatments.

Have you read reviews of the various parks? We don't go solely by reviews & feel we have to weed out comments that wouldn't pertain to us. Keep in mind that some people just like to complain and complain about the silliest things.

Looking forward to your report. They have a real mix of camp sites. If I wasn't so cheap we would have stayed in one of the waterfront sites. I like the location of the back in sites, last visit we were in the new area to the left of the entrance - not a fan if that area.

We have a pull throw hopefully giving a little more room to let the wife get a little fresh air for recovery

You didn't say what part of NOLA the hospital or doctor is located. Fairview State park North of the Lake Ponchartrain is really nice and not far from the toll ($2 one way) bridge (also know as the Causeway Bridge) into the city. Also Fontainebleau State Park is even bigger with more RV sites. Both have handicaps RV sites. A great deal of residents live north of the lake and drive into NOLA each day. website for LA State parks is below

Prayers for your wife and her caretaker
