Newbie traveling from Pa to Clearwater

I will be heading to Florida from Pa via 77-26-95 on Wed 27th and over night stops shouldn't be a problem. But coming back April 1 wondering if campgrounds get crowded with snow birds coming home?

We went from Tampa to Baltimore last year in spring and back in fall. Planned our stops and made campground reservations. No problem.

I travel that exact route (April 15th or so) only to Detroit from Jacksonville. We stay at the Charlotte KOA (exit 88 on 77) and Rippling waters camp (exit 116 on 77). Campgrounds are never full. I usually call ahead the day of travel. There are not many places open that time of year and I plan our days for 300 to 350 miles.

Rippling waters is a church camp in a lovely valley. Charlotte is a great place to visit if the weather is warm. There is also an Tribal trading post on 77 that makes a good lunch stop. Tamarack - Frequently Asked Questions
